INSIDE THE MORTGAGE BUSINESS

Building a referral business through repeatable service

The speakers favor a real estate business built on relationships rather than dependence on a single paid lead source or a temporary market niche. The useful idea is consistency, not a guarantee that referrals are foolproof.

Give the relationship a practical foundation

Make the service experience clear: explain next steps, respond to questions and follow through on commitments. After the transaction, keep contact relevant and welcome. A referral is someone choosing to trust you with another relationship; it should not be treated as an automatic reward for staying in touch.

Measure the process without assuming permanence

Review where introductions come from and whether the people referred receive the help they expected. Technology and market conditions can change how relationships are maintained. A referral approach may reduce reliance on one platform, but it does not remove competition, service failures or the need to adapt.

Can a referral strategy replace the need to improve the business?

No. Referrals depend in part on the experience people have. Clear service, follow-up and continued learning still require attention.
