Using this website

Mortgage applications are handled on Rate’s separate secure website. Scheduling opens Calendly. Articles may open Substack, videos use YouTube, and the Mortgage Rates page loads an embedded HousingBrief panel with Mortgage News Daily rates. Opening that panel connects your browser to HousingBrief to display its rates, charts and commentary. These services have their own privacy practices.

Calculator inputs stay in your browser unless you choose to include them in a personal review request. This site does not provide a place to upload loan documents. Please do not enter account numbers, Social Security numbers or private financial details into the page guide.

Optional website measurement

If you allow measurement, this site records public page visits, time spent viewing a page, calculator activity and selected link clicks. It uses a random browser session identifier, general referral category and recognized campaign identifier. It does not collect calculator values, form details or full referring URLs for this purpose. Session information expires after 30 minutes of inactivity; your choice is saved in this browser. Use Measurement preferences in the footer to change it. Declining does not prevent access to education or calculators.

Measurement events are retained for up to 90 days and removed when collection or reporting next runs. The private owner dashboard reports aggregate activity. Hosting services may separately process technical requests. If Google Analytics is configured, consented events also go to Google. Homebot handles its own form and report experience under its own privacy practices.

Poster page review requests

Poster landing pages ask for your first name, email and permission to contact you before showing a detailed illustration. Phone is optional. Submitting includes your scenario inputs, timing, poster source and any property address you enter. Eric receives the request in his private inbox to review your scenario and follow up by email or, if provided, a phone call. The result appears on the page and is not an automated email report. This does not enroll you in marketing or complete an application.

Calculator review requests

When you send a request, this site stores your name, preferred contact method and contact detail, planning timeline and calculator page. Calculator inputs are included only when you select that option. Eric uses this information to follow up about arranging a Discovery Call. This does not enroll you in marketing, book a meeting or complete a loan application.

Requests are encrypted in a separate private inbox that only the website owner can access. Records expire after 30 days and are deleted when the inbox is next used or another request is submitted. Eric can delete them sooner. Automatic email notifications and CRM delivery are not connected. To ask about or delete a request, contact Eric at eric.hamilton@rate.com or 630 728 7918.

The form does not send contact details or calculator inputs to analytics, put them in URLs, or save them in browser storage. Short lived hashed request identifiers help limit abuse. Hosting providers may process technical request information.

The private owner question testing feature stores submitted questions and answers for up to seven days, with deletion performed when that feature is used. It is not a public contact form. Hosting providers process technical request information to deliver and protect the site.
