Look beyond a full-time or part-time label
Ask about relevant transactions, local knowledge, the negotiation process and who handles urgent tasks. Find out who covers absences and how you can reach the team. An employment label alone cannot establish competence, availability or the quality of advice you will receive.
Keep a clear route to a person
Technology can help organize a transaction, but you still need someone accountable for explaining options and unresolved questions. Agree on the update schedule and preferred contact method. Ask how problems are escalated and who explains changes in cost, financing or contract timing.
What should I ask before hiring an agent?
Ask about relevant experience, responsibilities, communication, coverage and the terms of the representation agreement before deciding.
Sources and scope
The clip expresses opinions about part-time agents. This companion does not present a special disclosure requirement or assume one working arrangement is always better.
