Write down the reason for the purchase
Eric encourages buyers to return to their original goal when the pace of the market becomes distracting. That goal should be more specific than simply winning a home. Describe the space, location, timing and financial comfort you need. A written set of priorities makes it easier to recognize when excitement about a property is pulling you away from what matters.
Build a pause into the process
The clip warns against rushed emotional choices. Before a decision is urgent, agree with your agent on how you will review an offer and ask questions. A pause may be brief when a deadline is real, but it can still be deliberate. Understanding the deadline is different from letting pressure decide which terms you will accept.
Use current information without chasing every headline
The video refers to a heated market in 2023. Your present search may look different. Ask for information about comparable homes and financing options that apply to your own decision. The purpose is not to find a clever way to beat every other buyer. It is to choose a home and commitment that remain sensible after the excitement has passed.
Does staying calm mean I have to move slowly?
No. Preparation can help you make a timely decision without abandoning your priorities.
What should I decide before touring homes?
