Ask about the transaction needs

Have your agent ask the listing representative about the preferred closing date, possession timing and any known need to coordinate another move. Use information the seller chooses to share. A clear timetable may reveal room for agreement that a price-only discussion misses.

Offer flexibility you can actually provide

Before proposing an earlier closing or a different possession date, confirm the implications with your lender and other professionals. Consider your lease, moving expenses and cash needs. A convenient term is not helpful if you cannot perform it.

Keep the whole agreement in view

Review price, financing, inspections and other contract terms together. Understanding seller preferences does not require giving up protections you need. Ask what a proposed change means before accepting it.

Will matching the seller's preferences guarantee acceptance?

No. It may make an offer more relevant, but the seller can evaluate other terms and competing offers.
