Clarify the roles and relationships
Ask who will represent you, who will originate the loan and whether the recommended choice involves a business or compensation relationship. Having more than one professional role does not itself establish poor conduct. The important questions concern what services you receive, the terms offered and whether you can understand the tradeoffs.
Move the discussion from pressure to a written comparison
Ask the recommended lender and another lender to quote equivalent financing. Review fees, points, credits, payment and cash to close. If timing is offered as a reason for a particular choice, ask what deadlines or conditions create that concern. Keep explanations and estimates so you can assess the decision calmly.
Does an uncomfortable recommendation prove another offer is better?
No. Compare the actual terms and service commitments. You can seek another perspective without assuming either provider is automatically right or wrong.
