YOUR MORTGAGE, EXPLAINED
Can I change my mortgage payment due date?
Ask the servicer whether your loan allows a due date change or another payment arrangement. Do not assume choosing a different bank draft date changes the contractual due date. Confirm any agreement in writing and keep paying under the existing terms until the new arrangement is approved and effective.

Explain the cash timing issue
A mismatch between payday and the due date is different from an unaffordable payment. Tell the servicer which problem you are trying to solve so it can identify the relevant options.
Separate draft date from due date
Autopay settings control when money is requested. They may not change when payment is owed. Ask about processing time, fees and the effect of the proposed date.
Plan the transition month
A change can create an unusual interval between payments. Confirm the amount and date for that month before moving funds elsewhere. Keep reminders active until you see the arrangement working.
Address a lasting shortfall
If income does not cover the payment at any point in the month, a calendar change is unlikely to solve it. Ask about hardship assistance and review the wider household budget.
