Treat the reasons as questions, not labels
The speakers discuss different spending priorities and memories of family housing difficulties. Those are possible personal considerations, not established explanations for an entire generation. Ask which factors actually matter to you. Wanting mobility or more time to save can be a valid preference without fitting a demographic story.
Build a timeline around your own needs
Compare likely time in the area, monthly expenses, available cash and the responsibilities you are ready to take on. Discuss how a move, relationship change or growing household could affect the plan. Buying and renting each involve tradeoffs. An age comparison cannot tell you which arrangement works best for the next several years of your life.
Should I buy because other people my age already have?
No. Your financial readiness and expected housing needs are more useful than matching a milestone.
